Complications of Diseases That Cause Heart Disorders
Complications of Diseases That Cause Heart Disorders - Heart disease is a condition when the heart is damaged. The form of the disorder can vary. There are disorders of the blood vessels of the heart, heart rhythm, heart valves, or disorders due to birth. Heart disease is all diseases that occur due to impaired heart function.
Coronary heart disease is the most common type of heart disease. This condition is the result of plaque buildup in the coronary arteries. In addition, this condition can also block blood flow to the heart and increase the risk of heart attack. Other complications can also occur, including:
1. Heart Failure
Heart failure is a common complication. This condition is caused by the inability of the heart to meet the body's blood flow needs. This condition occurs because the heart muscle is no longer able to pump blood.
This condition is also prone to occur in people with congenital heart defects or heart infections. Heart failure usually presents with several symptoms. The symptoms in question are difficulty breathing, dizziness, and a buildup of fluid in certain parts that make it appear swollen.
2. Aneurysms
Aneurysm is a serious complication. The symptom that this condition can show is swelling of the arteries which can occur in any part of the body. If the aneurysm ruptures, it can be fatal due to internal bleeding.
3. Pulmonary embolism
Pulmonary embolism is a condition when the pulmonary artery becomes blocked. This blockage causes the body to rapidly become deprived of oxygen. As a result, some symptoms will appear, such as difficulty breathing, chest pain, and skin turning blue. This condition must be watched out, because it can cause death.
4. Cardiac arrest
Including in an emergency, cardiac arrest needs to be watched out for. If not treated properly and promptly, this condition can cause sudden death. This condition is a complication caused by the heart to stop beating suddenly. These heart rhythm disturbances can cause breathing problems and loss of consciousness.
5. Heart Attack
This situation occurs due to the death of heart cells, because the heart does not get enough blood intake. In addition, heart attacks occur because the heart arteries become narrowed due to cholesterol buildup or atherosclerosis.
This condition shows different symptoms, depending on gender. In men, symptoms of a heart attack can include pain in the area around the chest. Whereas in women with symptoms, the symptoms shown are nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
6. Peripheral Artery Disease
Narrowing of blood vessels can adversely affect blood flow to the heart. In addition, this condition can also have a negative impact on the ends of the body. Because these parts of the body are not getting enough flow, pain will occur, especially in the legs when walking.
7. Stroke
Stroke occurs because of a blood clot that blocks blood flow to the brain. These blood clots appear because the heart is not working properly. This situation can cause some disturbances in memory, speech, and coordination. In addition, a stroke can also cause numbness on one side of the body. Because it attacks brain cells, this condition needs to be watched out. The reason is, this situation can cause damage quickly and can be permanent.
